A Series by Geremy Dubensky
Emotion is, at its heart, a collection of works portraying the playfulness and geometric patterns encompassed in the destruction of fireworks.
The name “Emotion” means two-fold. The first meaning comes from the way in which the art itself is created: using a long exposure to capture emitted energy in motion. The second meaning comes from the emotion that the pieces provoke in the viewer. The abstract nature of the pieces gives each individual the ability to interpret the pieces on a unique, and ultra personal level – creating a highly emotional experience.
Emotion is an ever-growing body of work, currently comprised of two chapters: Liberty and Bastille. Liberty is a series of original and manipulated exposures taken during the 2012 Fourth of July Firework Show in New York City. Bastille is the second series in Emotion, comprised of original and manipulated exposures from the 100th Bastille Day celebration in Paris France, July 2014.
